Sunday, July 22, 2012, Carl Hubbard (Alan Carlson Hubbard) of Guilford died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Beloved husband of Stacey Doyle Hubbard and proud and loving father of Cameron Hubbard. Carl was born June 16, 1972, son of Alan and Fernn Hubbard of Guilford. Brother of Elisabeth (Steven) VanDerMaelen of Guilford and Christina (Andrew) Roberts of Wallingford, PA.
Grandson of Beatrice Carlson of Naugatuck. Son- in- law of Roger and Sandra Doyle and brother-in-law of Marcy and Rob Auger of Guilford . Also survived by nieces and nephews, Kelsey and Nicole Auger, Alex and Madeline Roberts, Emily and Erik VanDerMaelen.
Carl graduated from Guilford High School in 1991 and then from the Denver Automotive Diesel College in CO in 1993. For the last ten years he has worked for Jerry’s Transmission as a mechanic. He is a Lieutenant for Eagle Hose Co.# 2 for the Guilford Volunteer Fire Department, and has been a dedicated member of the Department for over twenty-five years. Carl was a devoted father, husband, and friend who enjoyed life to the fullest. He inspired many with his endless strength, courage and sense of humor throughout his journey. His positive attitude was contagious to all who knew him or heard of his battle with cancer. Carl and his family appreciated all the love and support he received since December 2011 from the Fire Dept, the Guilford community, nurses and staff on NP 12 Smilow especially Maureen Raucci, and his Hospice nurse Karen VanDerHorst.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 28, at 10:30am at the First Congregational Church, 122 Broad St, Guilford. Burial will take place privately. Friends may call Friday, July 27 from 4 – 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
