Lorraine Frances Giblin Finta , 88, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, from complications after surgery. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Finta, the daughter of the late Thomas Giblin, Sr. and Mary Short Giblin of Chicago, Illinois. Lorraine was a long-time resident of Madison and a communicant of St. Margaret R.C. Church.
She was the loving mother of Patricia Finta Preston and her husband James M. Preston of Madison, Thomas E. Finta and his wife Diane Ewald of Madison, Joseph S. Finta of Madison and his companion Louise Richards. Loving grandmother of Patricia F. Preston Halliwell of Deep River and James Preston, Jr and his wife Sara Terrill also of Deep River. Loving great grandmother of Lorenna Sage and James III. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends who will dearly miss all the greeting cards that she sent them.
Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Finta, a daughter, Mary Barbara Finta, a brother Thomas Giblin Jr and two sisters Marion Giblin Flynn and Virginia Giblin Dalton.
Mrs. Finta was a long time member of St. Margaret’s Women’s Guild and was happily employed at Bishops Orchards for 35 years.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret RC Church, 24 Academy St, Madison on Monday, July 23 at 11am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082 or to Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Spring Rd, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
