May 15, 2012 at Branford Hills Healthcare Center with her two daughters by her side.  Wife of the late Gordon Seipold.  She is survived by daughters Lynn Seltzer of New Britain, CT and Marianne Parente and her husband Ernest of Guilford, CT.  Grandmother of Christian Capiga of New Britain, CT, Jason Parente of Boston, MA, Jesse Parente and his wife Lori of Hamden, CT and great grandmother of Taylor Lynn Capiga. 
Marilyn graduated from East Haven High School and met her husband Gordon while working after school at the soda fountain at Holcomb’s Pharmacy.  She worked for AC Gilbert and retired as a mortgage officer from Bank of Boston.  She loved the ocean and enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening.  She was a strong, gracious and loving woman, always there for her family.  She spent her life happily giving to others.  She was our best friend.
Private services will be held by the family. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120921.jpg" alt="Robert James O&#039;Connor" />In Guilford Friday, May 11, 2012, Robert James O’Connor passed away.  His was the loving husband of the late Georgianna Shepard O’Connor.  Born May 20, 1924 in New Haven, son of the late James and Mary K. McHugh    O’Connor.  Also survived by a niece Jane Shepard of Hamden  and a nephew, Lee Shepard of South Windsor, a cousin John McHugh of East Haven and his close friend Stephen Page of Guilford.  
Mr. O’Connor served his country in the US Army during World War II and later worked at the Union Trust Company in New Haven as a Teller Supervisor.  During his retirement years Robert worked at the Guilford High School and at Page Hardware in Guilford for ten years.  He was an avid NY Yankee and Knicks fan and loved to spend his August summers at the beach and listening to baseball.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Wed. May 16 at 10am.  Burial with Military Honors will follow Mass in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven. Meisinger born January 31, 1927 in West Haven CT died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in Holbrook, MA surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Janet Baum Meisinger.  Vernon was proud to have been a member of the commissioning crew of the USS Midway and served during WWII.  Most of Vernon&#039;s life was spent in Wallingford where he was very active in the Republican party, the VFW and the Lions Club, where he served as president before moving to Madison in 1974.  He worked for the SNET telephone company for 41 years and retired to Florida.  Vernon also leaves behind his daughter Roberta (John) Oliveira of Holbrook MA. and his brother William.  He was also loved by Janet&#039;s children-Darlene May (Herbert Hicks), Elizabeth (Mark) Shaw, Kathleen (Anthony) Bove, Susan (John) Nilson and Henry (Diane) Baum, 8 grand children and 4 great grandchildren.  Vernon was predeceased by his first wife of more than 40 years, Roberta Baker and two sons, David and V. Douglas and his brother Charles H. Meisinger.  Vernon&#039;s expansive love and generosity has been a blessing to every life he touched.  Calling hours will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford on Monday, May 14 from 5-7.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Most Holy Trinity Church, Wallingford, on Tues. May 15 at 10 AM.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Northford Cemetery, Rt. 22, Northford. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120767.jpg" alt="James Malone " />On Sunday, May 6, 2012 in St. Raphael Hospital, New Haven, James Malone of Guilford passed away peacefully.  James was born on June 27, 1929 in the small country town of Harvest, Alabama.  He was the third of eight children born to James Clay Malone and Lucy Lockhart Malone.  Predeceased by his wife Mary Moore Malone.  Survived by a son, Richard Malone.  Also survived by his sister, Geneva Hammond of Madison, Alabama and his brother, Maxie (Hazel Overton) Malone of Chicago, Illinois.  And many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by sisters:  Marjoie Dobine,  Doris Malone, Betty Malone and brothers Jedia Malone and Arlis Malone.
As a young man, James worked as a chauffeur for the owner of Loveland Clothing Company in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and as a grinder at Mueller Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee.   More recently, he worked as a machinist for Otis Elevator.  His family would like to thank the staff of Apple Rehab of Guilford and the staff at the Hospital of St. Raphael for the care they gave James in his final months.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 111am at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.  Friends may call prior to the services from 10:30 – 11 am. At the Guilford Funeral Home. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120632.jpg" alt="Anthony Louis Dato" />Anthony Louis Dato of Madison, CT, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 5, 2012 under the loving care of Hospice, Branford, CT.  He was born on Oct. 4, 1935, son of Anthony and Rose Dato in Weehawken, NJ.  Mr. Dato served his country in the US Army from 1959-1961.  He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1970.  Anthony was a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the design and optimization of automation in machinery and manufacturing processes, 18 years with Warner Lambert Co., where he co-authored 2 patents.  He also co-authored an earlier patent in 1970 for Standard Tool &amp; Mfg. Co., Lyndhurst, NJ.  He was a Professional Engineer, CT, and was affiliated with the SME Society of Mfg. Engineers, Senior Member, RIA Robotics International Assoc., CASA Computer and Automated Systems Assoc., MVA Machine Vision Systems Assoc.
Besides his wife of 56 years, Luisa Dato, he is survived by his son, Anthony Dato, his wife, Sandy Dato, and granddaughter, Alyssa Dato; his daughters, Andrea and Danielle Dato; step-granddaughter Sue Delonghery, husband, Mike and their children, Autumn Lee &amp; Mia Paige; and beloved nieces and nephews.  Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Carmel Casatelli; brother, Gary Dato; and nephews, Robert and Ronald Castelli.
His elegance of thought and deed shall be missed by all who knew him.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_121181.jpg" alt="Edward Webster Perkins" />Edward Webster Perkins, 86, of Guilford, CT died Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born in New Haven, CT on May 5, 1926, son of the late Ralph and Ethel Perkins. Ed leaves behind his three sons, Edward Jr and Paula, Mark and Laura and Peter and his wife Jeri. Also survived by three loving grandchildren, Carl John, Zachariah and Pamela. Beside his wife Anne, he was predeceased by his brother Aubrey and sister Charlotte.
 Ed graduated from Lyman Hall School in 1944 as Vice President and class Valedictorian. He married the late Anna Garrick in December of 1945. Ed joined the military in 1943 and served over eight years of active duty in both WWII and Korea being honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. While serving in WWII he flew with the 8th Army-Air Force 445th bomb group’s 700th squadron as a B24 Liberator Waist Gunner. After returning home from the war he proceeded to build a home in North Guilford from the ground up. He founded the company Perkins &amp; Sons Floor Refinishing and worked for over forty years. Prior to that he worked for Safe Co Insurance and was a self-employed poultry farmer. Ed was a long time member of the North Guilford Congregational Church and a founding member of the Guilford Sportsman Association. He was a passionate outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spent many summers camping along Great Moose Pond in Harmony, Maine. He was a long time HAM radio operator and made many friends all over the world. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends who knew him as N1JJT and many life long friends too numerous to name.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 1 pm at the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford, CT 06437. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Guilford Cemetery. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120647.jpg" alt="Marshall Newton Dudley " />Marshall Newton Dudley of 85 Water Street. Guilford, CT died May 4th at Yale New Haven Hospital at the age of 85.  He was born in Guilford, on June 29, 1926, the son of the late Ellsworth and Margaret Conway Dudley.  Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lois Papa Dudley, children Marshall Dudley, Jr. of Guilford, Elizabeth Coles (Anthony) of NYC, and Matthew Dudley (Lea) of Spokane, WA.  He is also survived by grandchildren Morgan and Erin Dudley, Katherine, Caroline, and Robert Coles and brother-in-law Donald Papa (Donna).
Following his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Marshall continued his education at Trinity College in Hartford, followed by a JD degree from the University of CT Law School.  He was a practicing attorney in Guilford for 55 years prior to his retirement. 
Marshall had a lifelong interest in politics.  He was one of the founding members of the Guilford Young Republican Club, served many years on the Republican Town Committee and represented Guilford in the Connecticut House of Representatives.  He was also a longtime member of the Guilford Lions’ Club and served on the Guilford Police Commission Board. 
He and his wife traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean and took winter breaks in Bonita Springs, FL.  He was a longtime member of the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club and enjoyed golf and tennis.
Funeral and Burial services were held privately by the family.  Contributions in Marshall’s memory may be made to the Conn. She was born in Bridgeport CT 2 July 1936, the daughter of the late Frederick W. Kirby of Jamaica VT and the late Grace and Gib Newman of Madison CT.  Karen grew up in Madison, graduating from Daniel Hand High School.
Karen married Allen M. (Rebel) Lawrence of Richmond VA in 1956 and they settled in Guilford. She worked alongside of The Rebel at their business Guilford Auto Sales until their retirement in 1980.  They have one son Dane Lawrence and his wife Maribeth, and three grandchildren, 
Dane Allen, Catherine, and William Lawrence.  Beside her husband Rebel and their son and his family.  Karen leaves a brother Brent Kirby of Madison and his family. 
Karen was a gentle, giving, kind woman who loved her family and friends with her all. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her. 
Services will be held privately. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120577.jpg" alt="Bonnie Cordes Scahill" />Bonnie Cordes Scahill, age 71, loving wife of Frank J. Scahill, Sr., and beloved mother of 5 children, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Yale New Haven Hospital.  
Born March 6, 1941 in Laurel Springs, NJ, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Anna and Julius Cordes.  She attended Montclair State College and Rutgers University, where she majored in French.  She also modeled for Breck Hair Products and was a runway model.  
Bonnie worked for Trans World Airlines as a Flight Attendant and Supervisor of TWA’s International Flight Attendant Training.  She met Frank, a TWA pilot, in New York City when he had given her roommate a ride home from JFK.  Bonnie and Frank were reacquainted at a Manager’s Meeting in Kansas City, and they fell in love.  On May 20 of this year they will have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.  After living in the Midwest, they moved to New Fairfield, CT, for 31 years.  She had later worked as a Software Production Manager for Bristol Technology.  Bonnie was also a skilled seamstress, knitter, quilter, cook and gardener.  
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Frank J. Scahill, Sr., and 5 children, Frank, Jr., Mary Guarino and husband Matthew, Catherine, Melissa and Jacqueline, as well as her sister, Joan Ickler.  Bonnie was predeceased by a younger brother, William Cordes.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford, CT, 06437, on Thursday, May 10 at 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bonnie Scahill may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. <description><![CDATA[<img src="http://guilfordfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/167_120213.jpg" alt="Frederick Theodore Hinners" />Frederick Theodore Hinners, a lifelong resident of Guilford, loving husband of Jean Robert Hinners, beloved father and grandfather, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Perrigrine’s Landing at the Shoreline. Born in North Guilford on January 19, 1924, he was the son of the late William and Adele Hinners. He was a product of the Guilford school system and graduated in 1942. Fred served honorably in the US Army Air Force during WWII in the Pacific Theater. From 1946 until his retirement in 1987 he worked for the George C. Field Company in a variety of positions until his appointment as Vice-President. As a parishioner of St. George Catholic Church he was an usher and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Fred was also a volunteer fireman in Guilford in the Hook and Ladder Company for over 50 years. As well as attending many fires and emergencies he enjoyed activities with his friends in the organization. He was an outstanding bowler and softball player on many of the company teams over that time period. Fred also enjoyed playing tennis and playing cards with his many friends and relatives. His happiest moments were spent with his family, his loving wife Jean of 61 years, his son Bill, his daughter Deb and his only grandson Brendan. Beside his wife Jean, Fred is survived by his son William Hinners and his wife Carole of Branford, his daughter Deborah and her husband Douglas Miles of Clinton and their son Brendan and his fiancé Karen of Peabody, MA. He also leaves behind his loving sister Ann Holcomb of Guilford as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John, William, Charles and Henry, his sisters Marie Hinners and Frieda Tichy.  
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, Monday, May 7 at 10am.  Burial will follow in North Guilford Cemetery, Ledge Hill Rd, Guilford. Friends may call Sunday, May 6 from 4 to 7pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
